ABOUT

Dancing Grammie, also known as Queen Lori, launched her writing career after being crowned queen of the 2016 Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop. Her stories have been featured in several Chicken Soup for the Soul editions, and she just published her first book Dare to Live – Finding Joy at Any Age (at age 92). When Dancing Grammie is not writing, she's tap dancing at local retirement homes as leader of the Prime Life Follies, a group she started in 2003 with her late husband. She enjoys enjoys connecting with her 22 grandchildren with daily emails and would love to be your friend on "The Facebook," as she calls it. She loves chocolate and keeps a tin under her desk in case of writer's block.  When she's not writing, you may catch her dancing and sharing life lessons on “Porchcasts” with her daughter, Julie Osborne. Their goal is to share “Positivity from the Porch,” and they hope you tune in!

At 92, this Dancing Grammie, now published author, is just getting started!

Testimonials

Lori is a lifelong learner who is a shining example of "you don’t have to be twenty-one to have your whole life ahead of you!" Curiosity, talent, and an instinct to heal herself lead her to learn to tap dance in her 70s – which led to an audition for America’s Got Talent! With tap dancing under her belt she decided to pursue a writing career in her late 80s. Two of her essays were included in Chicken Soup for the Soul, and her new memoir Dare to Live is funny, poignant and adventurous — just like the woman herself. Lori’s story will inspire you to live your best life and reminds us all, "there’s always something more” no matter your age.
